If the argument is of type template.HTML, returns template.HTML, else returns a string.


Useful in a pipeline to remove newlines added by other processing (e.g., [`markdownify`](/functions/transform/markdownify)).

{{ chomp "<p>Blockhead</p>\n" }} → "<p>Blockhead</p>"
```
